Base and Premium Units
Will all premium rewards go down to 0.5%?
No, Premium Rewards will remain the same and are the best way for our users to build up funds to pay towards their utility bills. These rewards vary from 0.5% up to 8% on every successfully completed purchase. You will also receive an extra 0.5% for simply sharing the data connected to Premium purchases.
What are the differences between Base and Premium units with this update?
Base units will no longer be linked to Premium purchases. In other words, you will not need to shop with our Premium offers to get your outstanding balance of Base units released for bill payments.
You can also think of it like this, Base units have now evolved into a means to be rewarded for simply sharing purchase data with ZIPZERO which you will then be rewarded with 0.1% or 0.5% for shared receipts and confirmations. The value of the reward depends on whether or not the receipt comes from a Premium offer or not.
Premium units are a chance to help you speed up your earnings via both online and in-store shopping with the retailers we have partnered with. They remain the leading option in the journey to let your shopping pay your bills!
We will also be removing the split between Base units and Premium units currently displayed in the app and reverting back to the original display which showed only ‘Pending’ and ‘Available’ units.
How long after scanning my receipts will they become available?
The grace period will be set at 7 days. This includes both the scanning of physical receipts plus any online purchases that are sent to your unique ZIPZERO email address.
Premium purchases for both online and offline will be subject to a grace period.
How will Premium in-store shopping work?
After introducing the in-store Premium Offer feature to the ZIPZERO app your Premium Units for your in-store shopping will be added to your ZIPZERO wallet after you make sure you follow the necessary steps, which include:
- adding the Premium Partner offer to 'MY OFFERS' before the start of your shopping trip,
- proceeding with the shopping before the offer expiry date,
- scanning your in-store receipt within 7 days after you make the purchase.
Funds & Payments
What happens to my previous accumulated funds?
Base Units will change their status to 'available' towards a bill payment if you actively use the ZIPZERO app for 6 consecutive months:
- successfully scan at least 5 valid in-store receipts,
- or share with us at least 5 valid online purchase confirmations,
- or successfully use at least 5 online or in-store of our Premium Partner offers.
For users who stay active, we will release up to £10 from your pending balance on the 1st of each month (falling after the 31st of December) – until the old Base Units are depleted.
Is £10 the minimum I can use to cash out towards my bills?
There is no limit on the amount you can cash out per month with ZIPZERO. The figure of up to £10 per month for previously accumulated Base units detailed in the email, is an additional payment that finally allows you to unlock your historic units, once the change is brought in.
For example, if you have £30 in old Base units (units acquired before the changes to the app come in), you will be able to cash out these funds at a rate of £10 per month, starting on the 1st day of the subsequent month. Please remember, these funds are separate to any Premium units or new Base units you have available or pending. Once Premium or new Base units become available, you will then be able to use these on top of the £10 in old Base units that will be unlocked each month.
This change in the fundamental aspects of the app puts ZIPZERO back on the right track and a step closer to helping all our users earn as much as possible towards their bills.
Active Users and Account Deletion
What is an ‘active’ user?
An ‘Active’ user is defined as a user who is completing online shopping or scanning receipts regularly within the last six months.
Why are you deleting my account?
If we have deleted your account, this means that you have not been active in the last 6 months. We want to focus on new offers and truly active users, so we can provide them with the best rewards and support them in their journey to let their shopping pay their bills. So, we will be closing the accounts of all users who have not been active at least once in the past six months – on the 30th of November 2022.
Users who want to maintain their accounts simply need to use the app in the next few weeks – to scan a receipt(s) or shop with our Premium Partners to earn cash to pay the bills!
We want to help our Users to claim ownership of their anonymised marketing data and help them benefit from it by directly monetising and using it for an essential cause - lowering Users monthly bill payments. Together we can redirect the brand’s marketing budgets directly towards the end consumer, based on a mutual partnership within the ZIPZERO community.
